I Heart Faces ~ Black
I had to break this picture out again. Visiting the pumpkin patch dressed in black...dying of the heat in October. And it just shows how big My Monsters are getting...

I Heart Faces ~ Hands
When my brother was married last month, my monsters were in the wedding. It was a BEAUTIFUL wedding ~ and my monsters were surprisingly well behaved. And they seemed to have a blast. I took this shot as they wandered through the vineyard, picking grapes up off the ground. To those of us that know and love Matt, he's not really interested in seeing what's in Kat's hands. He's really just wondering if he can eat those, too!

I heart faces - Boys!
As soon as I saw the subject of this week's challenge on I Heart Faces, I knew exactly what picture I would post. I was taking pictures of my son as catcher for his baseball team and managed to snap this shot....
Just LOVE this shot - makes me laugh every time I look at it. :)

I Heart Faces - Pets
I admit it - this is probably one of my FAVORITE subjects for a photo contest. This is a picture of my baby, my Buster. Now that my twins are almost 11, they don't let me baby them anymore...but Buster does! :)
I could fill the page with pictures of my Buster Brown. But instead, I'll tell you to head over to IHF and check out the other great shots!

I Heart Faces - Best face photo
This has definitely made me realize how FEW pictures I took during January. It was so cold and the few times that we were out and about, I forgot my camera. <sigh>
Here's a shot that I captured of Matt while we took down the Christmas decorations on New Year's day...

I Heart Faces - Innocent Wonder
I love this week's theme on IHF. It makes me think of my sweet niece, Em. I have a couple of good shots of Em showing the innocent wonder that only a young child can show. And I had a really hard time picking between a couple. But I think I like this one....

It was taken last August, just as Em was turning two. She was just discovering the wonder of airplanes. She just loves airplanes and delights in showing you each and every one. :)

I Heart Faces ~ Fix it Friday #82
I'm super happy to do another Fix it Friday over at I Heart Faces. It's another chance to learn more editing skills in PSE.
Here's the original:
Here's my first edit. I cropped it. Then used EE's Georgia action and tweaked it. Finished with PW's Boost action and tweaked it.
Second edit. Flipped the image, tilted it, cropped it. And then ran PW's Lovely action which I tweaked. That's it. I like it. :)
Final edit. Used my second edit and converted it to BW using one of PW's actions.

I Heart Faces - Smiles
I've taken a break from my blog but it's really nice to get back in the swing. Here's my entry for I Heart Faces for this week....
I had such a hard time picking a photo this time. I played with probably 4 different shots. But I decided on this one. Let me know what you think and then check out the other shots over at IHF...

Fix it Friday #81
I took a break from painting bedrooms to try my hand at editing this week's Fix it Friday photo from I Heart Faces. I had fun - and tried to remember what I used on my edits this time!
Here's the original shot:
Here's my first edit. It's my B&W version.
I used PW's Boost, then PW's B&W Beauty. I think there was another step in there - but I can't find my notes.
Here's the sepia version...
Same steps as above - then added PW's Sepia.
And finally...my favorite one.
I used PW's Boost, PW's Colorized, Everyday Elements Vermont, and then PSE's colorful center. Finally, I gave it a frame. I really like this one. I like how it's soft and there's a hint of color that highlight's her face.

I Heart Faces - Fix It Friday #80
I'm a little late with this one. but my monsters are each getting redecorated bedrooms for Christmas and I've been painting up a storm! I shouldn't have let them talk me into decorative paint jobs....
I only did one edit on this one. It's such a beautiful shot that I really wasn't sure how to improve it. And since I did the edit on Friday, I can't really remember what I did during the edit either. I do know that I used PW's Heartland. But I don't know what else I did. I've lost my short term memory since I had kids....

I Heart Faces - Paper
Kat - as usual - with her nose buried in a book. Probably one of the Twilight series...
OK ... why did I think it was still Monday??? I missed the deadline to link this by an hour. Oh well...

I Heart Faces ~ Orange!
Here's my shot at this week's photography contest. The theme is orange. I had some other photo's that I could have entered but I thought this one was fun. Never mind serious this week -- I like fun since I'm not looking to win anything! :)
Just such a typical shot of Matthew but I really love how the look on his face is almost mirrored by the characters on his shirt!

Another Fix it Friday!
I know I've said it before but ~ I simply love I Heart Faces. It's another Fix it Friday and the second one that I've participated in. I think I'm getting better with PSE...still need to work on my actual photography skills. :) Below is the original picture, SOOC:
Here's my first edit:
Any my second:
Third:
And finally, fourth:
I'm not sure which one I like the best. But I think it's the first one. hmmm...maybe I need to play more! :-p

Fall memories / I Heart Faces
I Heart Faces is looking for fall memories this week. Since it's not a judged photo, I'm going to show more than one... simply because I can! :)
I love fall ~ and taking pictures of my monsters in the leaves from the big trees in the front yard. Every year, they rake the leaves into a huge pile (or two) and spend no less than an hour running, jumping and..tackling each other in the leaves. And I simply love to sit on the side lines taking pictures.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Kat. It was taken when she was 4 (I think?) with a really old digital camera. I sure wish we had a better camera back then...
It's grainy. Resolution stinks. But I LOVE the look on her face. The leaves in her hair. Everything.
Here's a typical picture from playing in the leaves (another old one. A year later I think).... Kat was simply fed up. And Matt ~ well, he was still having a blast.

Unfortunately, I lost about 3 years worth of photo's when our old computer died.. Well, they are still on the hard drive. I just can't retrieve them. :( Some day...
I can't wait to take this year's fall pictures!

Fix it Friday
I love the “I Heart Faces” website and check it almost every day. I get tips and ideas ~ and just general inspiration from it. This is the first time I’ve participated in their Fix It Friday photo. Not that I’m very good at this… but I know that the only way I can learn is with practice. Right? Right! So my attempt is here. Let me know what you think. (not that anyone ever reads this!)
