Trendy Treehouse photo - Brown!

I found a new website that I'm liking a bunch!  Great photo stuff.  Can't wait to keep reading.  :)  Anyway, they have a weekly contest and this week's theme is {Brown}.  Here's one of my favorite brown photo's...

I could probably come up with more brown pictures - but I like this one.  Let me know what you think...
And head on over to see the other photo's ... there are some great ones!

My trip to CVS

I don't mean to sound sexist.  Really, I don't.  But I expect the male of our species to have at least a little bit of automotive sense.  Cars are part of their genetic make up, aren't they?  Last night, I was standing in line at CVS behind what has to be the dumbest MAN on the planet.  He was trying to return a can of "Fix-a-flat" because it was defective.  He explained to the teenager behind the counter that he had sprayed it ON his tire and it didn't work.  Even the girl behind the counter had a hard time not laughing while she tried to explain that the fix-a-flat goes IN the tire...not on it. WTH? Someone really needs to revoke his man card!

I Heart Faces ~ Orange!

Here's my shot at this week's photography contest.  The theme is orange.  I had some other photo's that I could have entered but I thought this one was fun.  Never mind serious this week -- I like fun since I'm not looking to win anything!  :)

Just such a typical shot of Matthew but I really love how the look on his face is almost mirrored by the characters on his shirt!

Another Fix it Friday!

I know I've said it before but ~ I simply love I Heart Faces.  It's another Fix it Friday and the second one that I've participated in.  I think I'm getting better with PSE...still need to work on my actual photography skills.  :)  Below is the original picture, SOOC:

Here's my first edit:

And finally, fourth:

I'm not sure which one I like the best.  But I think it's the first one.  hmmm...maybe I need to play more!  :-p

The Pioneer Woman ~ Four Legs!

I love The Pioneer Woman's website and read it every single day.  Ok, twice a day.  Maybe three times a day.  There is always something for me to learn or try.  And reading Ree's photography tips has helped me start to explore photography a little bit.  And to really have more fun with my camera.  I don't get results like she gets.  But I'm slowly getting better.  Very slowly.

The newest photography challenge is Four Legs.  So far, I have two pictures that I'll enter...

First is the always beautiful Emma with Hawkeye.

And then one of my favorite pictures of Buster.  I played with it in PSE just a little bit.  :)

I'll post more as I find them...or "shoot" them.

Update... Here's another picture:

Fall memories / I Heart Faces

I Heart Faces is looking for fall memories this week.  Since it's not a judged photo, I'm going to show more than one... simply because I can!  :)

I love fall ~ and taking pictures of my monsters in the leaves from the big trees in the front yard.  Every year, they rake the leaves into a huge pile (or two) and spend no less than an hour running, jumping and..tackling each other in the leaves.  And I simply love to sit on the side lines taking pictures.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Kat.  It was taken when she was 4 (I think?) with a really old digital camera.  I sure wish we had a better camera back then...

It's grainy.  Resolution stinks.  But I LOVE the look on her face.  The leaves in her hair.  Everything.

Here's a typical picture from playing in the leaves (another old one.  A year later I think)....  Kat was simply fed up.  And Matt ~ well, he was still having a blast.

Unfortunately, I lost about 3 years worth of photo's when our old computer died..  Well, they are still on the hard drive.  I just can't retrieve them.  :(  Some day...

I can't wait to take this year's fall pictures!

October comes to an end

What a week!  I started the week running on empty but just kept chugging along.  Rough week at work - but really, who cares about work?

Matt had his last regular season football game on Saturday.  This season has been a beating.  His team has lost every single game.  Yes, you read that correctly.  Every.  Single.  Game.  We parents came to realize that we needed to have more realistic expectations for our team....we learned to be thrilled when our boys scored a goal.  Never mind winning.  Just score a goal.  (yes, that's my little #20 in the red jersey)

I am so very proud of my son.  He didn't get discouraged with the weekly beatings that his team took on the field.  He always came off the field with a smile, called out a bunch of "Good Game" to his team mates, and overall, just confirmed that he had fun playing the game.  Because, yes, he understands that it's just a game.  Dad - are you listening?!?  It's a G-A-M-E.  Played for fun.  Remember?  :)

Kat had a blast cheering - as usual.  She was again the only "senior" girl there on Saturday.  She does so well showing the younger girls the cheers.  And I know she loves to be up front and center!

And Emma was at the game!  The kids love her so much.  But especially Kat.  She just dotes on Em.

And then it was nap time!  ;)

We carved pumpkins....
And played ball...

And then came Halloween.  The days of cute matching costumes are gone.  But everyone had so much fun!
